It’s summertime and love is in the air! Especially in Orlando since the weather is beautiful in the summer and it’s the perfect place for couples to have some fun together with all the different activities this bustling city has to offer. (No bias, of course.)
If you’re looking for Orlando date night ideas, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite suggestions. As wedding planners who have worked in this area for 15+ years, we would say we have some great ideas on how you can spend your summer with your partner! From swan boats to Disney World to games to restaurants — there is hardly a shortage of great date nights you can have in this entertaining Florida city. Here are our four summer date night ideas!
For the couples that want more of a relaxed date night, taking a stroll in Downtown Orlando is a great way to spend some quality time together without too much planning involved! Downtown Orlando has a lot of variety to offer, which means you can easily pick and choose the kind of vibes you want to have for your date night. There are lots of areas where you can sit, talk, and enjoy this beautiful city. Plus, there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars to stop by if you need dinner.
If you’re not sure where to start or need help to prioritize what to check out on your walk, we suggest Wall Street Plaza, which is often vibrant at night. Or, you can rent a swan boat on Lake Eola for a romantic night that gives you a great view of the city.
We couldn’t write an Orlando date night idea blog post without mentioning Disney! Disney Springs is a highly popular, open-air Disney-themed shopping and dining area that has a little something for everyone to enjoy. You can visit unique shops, eat at one of their many restaurants, watch one of their shows, go bowling, or even take a hot air balloon ride at Disney Springs!
In short, Disney Springs has a lot to offer, so no matter the type of date night you’re looking for — relaxed, adventurous, or entertaining — you’re sure to enjoy yourself with your partner here.
Similar to Disney Springs, Winter Park has a lot of great activities to do and amazing restaurants, shops, and bars to visit. It’s different from Disney Springs, though, in the sense that many people go to Disney Springs because they’re Disney fans whereas Winter Park is a bit more varied.
Walk around Park Avenue where most of the shops and restaurants are located, visit Orlando Shakes Theater (the Shakespeare Theater) to catch a show, or check out the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of Art!
If you’re looking for a place that’s both fun and romantic, ICON Park is a great choice for your Orlando date night. This place is a modern attraction park that boasts a ton of activities for couples to enjoy.
From the world-class ICON Restaurant that looks out to Orlando’s skyline to the ICON Observation Wheel where you can enjoy a stunning view of Orlando to the beautiful botanical garden in ICON Park, there are just so many things to do that you’ll definitely enjoy with your partner! Special mentions also go to the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, the Sea Life Aquarium, and the Museum of Illusions.
Summer is a great time to prioritize having date nights with your partner. Choose from our list of Orlando date night ideas and you’ll be ready to make your next date super special. We are firm believers in the idea that date nights don’t have to be expensive or extravagant — it can just be a night where you both get to enjoy an activity you don’t usually experience every day. The best date nights are memorable ones, but it doesn’t require a ton of planning beforehand.
Whether you prefer a more relaxed date night or something a bit more exciting, we know that there’s something on this list for everyone to enjoy!
