He planned the perfect proposal and you said yes to your forever! Now it’s time to plan the perfect wedding day for you and your fiancé; but where to start?
Picking a venue and picking a wedding date are often the first steps in the wedding planning process so here are a few things to consider when searching for and selecting your dream venue:
-If you already have a wedding planner, consult with them first to see if they have any recommendations. They’ll be able to keep your vision in mind while knowing the logistical aspects of different venues in your area.
– If you don’t have a planner yet, hop over to our favorite resource for Central Florida venues, WeddingVenueMap.com. They list every venue in the area and you can sort by indoor, outdoor, barn, ballroom, and almost anything else you can think of!
-Decide if you want two separate venues (one for your ceremony and one for your reception) or only one for the entire event. Choosing to host everything at one venue will not only be a huge money-saver, but it’ll also be easier on you and your wedding party, your guests, and your vendor team.
-Always keep your guest list in mind! You don’t want a venue too large because you’ll feel the need to fill up the extra space (which will eat through your budget) but you definitely want to ensure that you select a location that will accommodate your max guest count comfortably.
-Remember your budget and consider what each venue includes. Some venues will already include things like tables, chairs, and linens and others will just offer the use of the space so you’ll have to spend a bit more for those items. Depending on what comes included, expect to spend about 10%-15% of your overall budget on your venue (not including food and beverage).
-Finally, make sure you and your fiancé stay true to your wedding vision and just trust your gut! There are so many venues in Central Florida to choose from….the perfect one is waiting for you!
