Fast forward to their wedding day when they stood in front of their closest friends and family to promise the rest of their lives to each other. Stephanie + Luc worked with Sr. Planner, Ali Watkins with Event Management + Design to bring their Omni Orlando Resort Wedding to Life. They were such a sweet and beautiful couple and their laughs were infectious. While planning with them over the year, we knew it was going to be a fun and exciting wedding!
They love to travel and it was important to incorporate that into their wedding along with the tropical décor of her families’ islands. Along with that, most family and friends traveled from long distances to celebrate with them so they knew they wanted to recognize that as well.
Their ceremony was held at Holy Family Catholic Church. Luc’s face light up as he saw his beautiful Bride walk down the aisle.
Anyone attending this wedding was treated to a unique experience of love, excitement, and entertainment! We started the reception with a waving of flags as the couple entered the room! Guests were encouraged to bring flags from their home country to represent how far they have traveled, as well as their nationality, to be with this amazing couple. The bride came in with both the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rican flags while the groom came in with the Congo flag! Everyone was on their feet dancing and cheering with excitement.
After dinner, Stephanie had a quick dress change in preparation for their first dance as husband and wife. Some may wonder why change your dress when it’s so stunning?? Well, when you are marrying a dancer/choreographer you need to be able to move a little more freely!
“This was the most anticipated part of their reception for me. I had been asking them about the dance during our meetings and they hadn’t started practicing yet. So, at rehearsal, I asked the bride one last time and she told me they were “winging” it. When I tell you, the groom is an amazing dancer, I am not exaggerating and Stephanie has been his dance partner for 14 years so it’s only natural that she is amazing as well and their dance was perfection!” — Ali Watkins
The final surprise for guests was when we kicked up the party and boosted the level of fun and entertainment with Samba Dancers! Stephanie donned carnival-style wings to enter with the dancers and Luc, of course! They danced their way in and the guests went crazy. DJ Ciera accompanied by a drummer kept the dance floor packed throughout the night while the samba dancers joined in!
