A first look is when the bride and groom choose to see each other (usually privately) right before their ceremony begins. Typically, they’ll find a quiet place by their ceremony (usually this place is already decided upon prior to wedding day) to share in this intimate moment of seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. The photographer and videographer will also be in the back ground to capture the sweet moment of excitement , joy and love.
Although, some brides only want their groom to see them for the first time when they are walking down the aisle, others say they like it better to see each other before because it is the only private moment they get to themselves the whole day. It also helps those anxious couples because it can calm their nerves and be reassuring to see other other privately right before they exchange their vows in front of their family and friends.
Finally, a first look can allow a photographer to not only capture that special moment of just the two of you, but they can also take additional photos before the ceremony which helps to cut down on the amount of photos needed to take during cocktail hour which will allow you to join your guests for the cocktail party!
Whatever the reason may be that you do choose to do a first look, we want you to know, it has been nothing but successful with all of our weddings thus far. The couples love it and are always glad they did it!
