How did you start Blush by Brandee Gaar? I reached out to Brandee in the fall of 2014 to see if there was an opportunity with Blush, and I have been a part of this wonderful team since!
What has been one of your favorite details about a wedding? There are so many little details to weddings that I absolutely love. I truly appreciate all the little touches the couple does to personalize their wedding. Also, I tear up every time during the first dance and parent dances! They fill the room with so much love and joy!
What is your favorite thing about weddings? I love that I can be a part of my couple’s big day! There is a moment during the ceremony and reception where I step back and see everything we’ve been planning for come together. It makes me smile knowing I could make things special for my couples!
Have you always wanted to be a wedding coordinator? My love for weddings began in high school! After I graduated high school I knew I wanted to work in the Hospitality industry, but I thought wedding planning was out of the question. I went to the Rosen College at the University of Central Florida where I got my Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management. Just before graduation, I started with Blush and it has been the best decision I could have made!
Did you plan your own wedding? I am not married yet, but you could say I have everything planned already.
After being a part of so many weddings is there anything you would change about your own wedding day? I think my biggest take away from being a part of so many weddings would be that I want a small intimate wedding surrounded by my close friends and family.
What do you do when you aren’t spending your weekends working weddings? When I am not working a wedding on the weekend I like to spend time with my family and friends. I am Disney Annual Pass holder, so I spend a lot of time at Disney too!
If you could go back to the day you started at Blush, what advice, if any, would you give yourself? I would remind myself why I am a wedding coordinator. I am passionate about giving my couples the best wedding day possible, but it is okay to not stress over every little detail. All the pieces of the wedding will fall into place and make a truly wonderful experience for everyone.
Is there any advice that you could offer to aspiring wedding coordinators? Come prepared for anything! Also, make sure you do everything with a smile. Believe it or not, people are watching.
Tell me about a unique wedding you’ve done. Every wedding has its own unique touches. I think that is what makes what I do so special.
